From the Highlands of Peru · Organic · Full City Roast

Our Peru Minca Grade 1 Organic comes from the lush Central Highlands of Chanchamayo in Peru's Junín region, where the Quechua tradition of Minca has shaped farming communities for generations. Minca is the practice of neighbors working side by side, moving from farm to farm to help one another with whatever needs to be done. It is a simple idea rooted in generosity, shared success, and pride in the harvest.

Unlike the Specialty Coffee Association's grading system, "Grade 1" isn't defined exactly the same way in every coffee-producing country. For Peruvian export coffee, Grade 1 generally indicates the highest export quality, with strict standards for defects and bean preparation. We roast this coffee to Full City, bringing out deeper sweetness and a richer body while preserving the clean balance that makes Peruvian coffee so respected. The cup opens with notes of dark chocolate and warm brown spice, followed by natural cane sugar sweetness and a delicate hint of green tea that lingers through the finish. Medium acidity keeps the flavor bright without overpowering the palate, and a smooth, medium body makes it just as enjoyable for a daily cup as it is for an after-dinner treat.

The coffee is grown by smallholder farmers between 1,200 and 1,750 meters above sea level, where cool mountain air, fertile soils, and careful cultivation create ideal growing conditions for exceptional Arabica. Washed processing highlights clarity and sweetness, allowing the character of the origin to shine.

Peru has become one of the world's leading producers of certified organic coffee by investing in sustainable farming practices that support both the land and the families who depend on it. This coffee reflects that commitment from seed to cup.

Comforting, balanced, and quietly complex, this is the kind of coffee you'll find yourself reaching for day after day.
